Message: Probably 20 or 30 below in Prufhoe Bay and soon no sun at all for 2 months. If you got to get to 2nd AK, hop a plane to Nome AK. Still could be nasty, cold, some snow.....but at least civilization and rental cars. Note - they don't plow roads out of town once the snow starts....and you have to find a quiet pot to run away from town. Maybe airport lot....de N4CD. The haul road to Prudhoe bay is open year round..they move the heavy loads once the road freezes. The oil workers never stop.....
